Partner: Mona Shah

Mehreen Shah, LLB(hons.) or Mona Shah as she is more commonly known, graduated from the Univeristy of Northumbria in 1990 was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England & Wales in 1993, and was called to the New York State Bar and the U.S. Federal Bar in 1997.
Mona trained with various firms in the UK, and with the British Crown Prosecution Service, prior to establishing the New York Office in 1998.

Mona has successfully litigated in the US Circuit Courts and is admitted to the U.S. Second Circuit Appeals Court, the Third, Fifth and Eleventh Circuit Appeals Court. Mona has extensive experience in the Trial Courts; she has argued cases before a panel of judges in the appellate courts, undertaken jury trials and ADR.

Mona has extensive knowledge in US Immigration law, Federal criminal law, domestic relations & matrimonial law.  She has written numerous articles for local newspapers, has been a guest speaker at legal seminars and has even hosted her own television series. She has featured as a guest speaker on local news programs.

Full Support Staff: We have a full support staff, including associate attorneys, of counsel attorney s, paralegals and law clerks well versed in the needs of our client.  U-Meeka Carroll, LLB (hons) graduated from The University of Texas with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Political Science and minor in Spanish.  In 2005, she graduated from University of Wolverhampton with a LLB (HONS, Second Class, First Division) in International Trade.  U-Meeka’s main area of interest is US Immigration Law.  Shagufta Sheikh, BCom graduated from the University of Bombay with a Bachelors degree in Commerce (B. Com), she then completed a  Masters in computer programming, and has five years of legal experience. Eugenia J. Cawley. (BA/MPA) graduated from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, City University of New York, with a Bachelors and a Master’s degree in June 2001. Eugenia is a certified paralegal (graduating from the New York Paralegal School).

George Olsen Esq. : 
We represent individuals and small groups interested in selling a property or interested in the purchase of a property for private use, investment purposes or conversion to residential cooperatives or condominiums. We also represent individuals purchasing or selling homes and cooperative/condominium units, as well as commercial landlords and tenants leasing office or retail space.We handle real estate and corporate matters for the Board of Managers of several cooperative and condominium buildings in both upper and lower Manhattan. This representation includes, but is not limited to: the refinancing of underlying mortgages, transfers of individual units, updating of by-laws and proprietary leases, drafting renovation/alteration agreements, reviewing and negotiating trade contracts and assisting in shareholder/owner dispute resolution. We have expertise in all aspects of building management and finance.

In addition, the Law Office of George L. Olsen is counsel to several NYC area developers and represents them in all aspects of the development process, including the due diligence phase, negotiating the acquisition of a property, reviewing title matters, advising them in negotiations with and drafting agreements for development professionals, such as architects, mechanical and structural engineers, land use counsel and general contractors. The firm also assists its clients in obtaining acquisition and construction financing, negotiating loan documents and closing such loans. The Law Office of George L. Olsen also assists its development clients with the condominium offering plans, all aspects of marketing plans, the closings of individual units as well as coordinating all post-closing matters.

Partner: Farhat Hussain

Farhat Hussain LLB(hons) was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England & Wales on 15 December 1988 and the founder of Silvers Solicitors. Farhat Hussain is highly experienced in corporate law, acquisitions and mergers, the incorporation of companies, commercial property and construction/building contracts for multinational corporations as well as individuals. Farhat trained with Constant & Constant in the City of London, specializing in the corporate company commercial field. He also became proficient in shipping and aviation & finance; acquisition and disposal and secured lending work.

Partner: Naweed Riaz

Naweed Riaz LLB(hons) was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England & Wales in 1990.  Naweed Riaz is a member of the highly respected Law Society’s Panel of Family law. This specialist panel is acquired only after years of practice and expertise. Such expertise has assisted our handling of international child abduction and international child custody battles, from both the UK as well as the US. Naweed has extensive experience in all elements of family work. In addition Naweed also has experience in all areas of commercial litigation including building disputes. Naweed has also dealt with alternative dispute resolutions where he has helped our corporate clients to resolve complex problems.
