Mona Shah, Esq. Guest Speaker at the 4th Immigration Abroad Agent Congress

Live from Shanghai, China – The 4th Immigration Abroad Agent Congress, a three-day event from November 4-6, 2015, hosted numerous high quality projects from around the world, with an emphasis on U.S immigration.

The U.S. panel occurred on Thursday morning, with guest speakers from the EB-5 industry, each experts in their respective fields.  Starting the panel was Bob Kraft, CEO of FirstPathway Partners, discussing the proposed changes in the EB-5 Investor Program, followed by Emma Chen from Golden Opportunity Regional Center.  Our very own Mona Shah was the only immigration attorney on the panel, discussing various types of EB-5 projects with an emphasis on the Transportation industry, educating attendees that the EB-5 Program is more than just the typical glamorous hotel projects.  Wright Johnson was represented by its President, Aaron Goforth. Other speakers included Bradley Snyder, co-founder of Atlantic American Opportunities Fund; Mark Jorgensen from Golden Gate Global; and Shalom Segelman, President and CEO of The Madison Group.  Also present at the conference were IIUSA & EB-5 Investors Magazine.

Agents were keen to hear about the overhaul of the EB-5 Program and how the TEA would work with reduced census tracts.  The general consensus was that the program will increase the investment amount.  At the event, there were mixed feelings as some agents expressed that the increase will not affect their particular investors while others believed it would affect a large portion. Mona did raise the issue of marketing projects in urban areas which may not be TEA’s as triple A projects, therefore warranting a higher payment.

MSA is off to Dubai, hosting an immigration seminar on Saturday, November 7, 2015. Stay tuned!
